Frequently ASked Questions

  • We encourage members from all backgrounds to apply! Our members come from all across the university, from Environment & Sustainability, to Engineering, to Architecture, Art, and Planning. Diversity of thought is very important to us, so we love to see non-business majors interested in our work!

  • Our recruitment process is built to be accessible to all interested candidates! For this reason, we do not assume you will have any technical skills or business knowledge going into recruitment. Rather, we are looking for the potential to build technical skills, which we will then teach you in your time with ASATT.

  • Yes! We heavily encourage candidates who have recruited in the past to apply again. Many of our current members were reapplicants when they got into the organization. Having gone through our recruitment process before can help you navigate it again!

  • Your graduation year is not considered in the ASATT recruitment process. Whether you’re a freshman or a senior, you are welcome to join us!

  • The best way to prepare for our recruitment process is to become familiar with what we do and how you could fit into that mission (you’re on our website, so that is a great start). While not required, it is encouraged to attend our recruitment events and coffee chat with our members.

  • If you have general questions about our recruitment process, please reach out to our VP of Recruitment and Development. If you need accommodations or have DEI-related questions concerning our recruitment, please reach out to our VP of DEI. Both of these officers are here to support you throughout your recruitment process! You can find their information on the Members Page.

  • No, we will not be asking for nor taking resumes from candidates during any recruitment round. Candidates resumes are reviewed during the application round, so be sure to upload your most recent resume on your application!

  • Business professional clothes are not required. For our first and second round interviews, we request that you arrive in business professional attire. However, if you are unable to meet this dress code for any reason, this will not impact your eligibility for ASATT! If you do not have business attire but would like some, The Wardrobe at Cornell provides pre-professional clothing to students for free through their rentals and pop-up shops.

  • Your attendance and participation can show continued interest, but a lack of attendance will not harm your application. However, candidates that engage in these opportunities do tend to have an easier time navigating our recruitment process. Coffee chats and recruitment events provide a thorough perspective on who we are, making it easier for candidates to answer application and interview questions and determine if ASATT is the right place for them. We also love getting to know you outside of the interview setting, so we are always excited when you do drop by!

  • You can request a coffee chat through our coffee chat request form during recruitment! Through this form you can request to chat with a specific eboard member or you will be paired based on the interests you share in the form. You are welcome to complete as many coffee chats as you would like through this form!

  • If you need accommodations for whatever reason—from being out of state for interviews to needing a different format for a case packet—we are here to find a solution and ensure you can still have an encouraging recruitment experience. Please reach out to the VP of Recruitment and the VP of DEI to discuss options. Their emails can be found on their member profiles on the members section of our website.
